A week lets you do something the rushed 3-day version can't: actually split your stay, rather than day-tripping everything from one base. This plan spends the first half on the caldera rim and the second half on the quieter south coast.
Days 1–3: Caldera rim (Fira / Imerovigli)
Follow the 3-day plan above — Fira and the northern caldera path, Oia, and a volcano boat trip or museum day. Use the extra breathing room to repeat a sunset spot that impressed you, or take the hike out to Skaros Rock from Imerovigli; see our Imerovigli guide.
Days 4–5: Move south (Megalochori or Pyrgos)
Relocate to the quieter south — see our Megalochori guide — and spend a day on Akrotiri's beaches (Red Beach and White Beach) plus the archaeological site, then a second day on wine tasting around Megalochori and Pyrgos; see our planning a wine day guide.
Day 6: East coast beach day
Kamari or Perissa for a full, easy beach day, plus Ancient Thera on the ridge above if you want a half-day of history mixed in; see our Perissa guide.
Day 7: Thirasia or a slow last day
A day trip across the caldera to Thirasia — Santorini's quieter sister islet, reachable by local boat from Oia's harbour or on volcano-tour extensions — makes a memorable last full day, or simply use it as a buffer before departure; ferry and flight schedules aren't worth cutting close.
